Due to social distancing measures their operations are weather dependant.
It will be fantastic to have the cafe and viewing area back open to the public and we look forward to inviting you back.
With the good forecast for this weekend, we’d like to try extending our opening hours this weekend to 09:30 – 16:00 and it would be great to see you!

As an update to our previous post, we have now received Civil Aviation authority permission to allow short local maintenance and engine health flights in line with their Covid-19 guidance.
Please note that this is only for home based aircraft at Welshpool Airport.
This is to prevent engine damage if aircraft are not flown regularly. Flights are restricted to 30minutes every 4 weeks, in addition to this social distancing will be maintained and strictly adhered to.

Hello all Welshpool Airport Users,
From all at Welshpool Airport, we hope that you are all keeping well during those uncertain times.
To update everyone, we are currently only open for emergency services / utility / military and essential travel booked and agreed in advance.
Our office hours are currently 9:30 – 13:30. (Unless agreed otherwise).
We are keeping the airfield available to all essential users and we are also working to keep the airfield maintained and ready for when things eventually return to normal.
There is quite a lot of maintenance involved to keep all of our services operational and we are committed to keep the airfield open and ready to go.
After such a bad winter and the coronavirus outbreak and we look forward to welcoming to you to Welshpool as soon as possible!

The shoot season is in full flow and as ever we are having a variety of aircraft arriving at the airport.
Here is a photograph taken as the sun was setting behind this brand new Bell 505 Jetranger X earlier this month.

As some of you may already be aware, we have been having some extension work done at the airport this year.
We now have a larger car park, more grass aircraft parking and a large extension to one of our existing hangars.
The extended hangar will have doors either end for easy access and features a higher door on the southern side to allow for slightly larger aircraft if needed. The car park has been doubled in size to cater for the increasing number of visitors to the airport.
